God Will Always Give You the Wisdom You Need to Solve ProblemsAs a child of God you never have to be in the dark about anything that concerns you. God will always give you the wisdom you need to solve problems. I have a silly little story to tell you that illustrates God’s ability to shed light on your circumstances.

After getting into bed one night, I bolted straight up after hearing some unfamiliar sounds. It wasn’t creaking and bumping exactly but more like clipping and thunking. The noise sounded like it was coming from underneath my bed or in the closet. I had no idea what caused those sounds but my over active imagination immediately conjured up the idea of a large insect.

For a moment, the clipping and thunking stopped and I lay back down hoping to finally get some sleep. It wasn’t going to happen. The racket started again. There was a broom in the hallway. I thought about using it to swipe underneath the bed and ferret out the creature but I didn’t have the energy to chase it down. It was well after midnight and I had to get up early the next morning. So, I decided to sleep on the living room couch. However, I was tempted to stay up and worry. I had no idea what I would do in the morning. However, the Bible tells us to pray about everything and that includes “gigantic bugs” that clip and thunk.  So, I committed the situation to prayer.

Right before going to sleep it occurred to me that the plastic drinking water bottle sitting on top of my dresser might be the culprit. If it was leaking, that would explain the rhythmic “Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!” I kept hearing. But it didn’t explain the clipping noise. I didn’t give this notion any further thought.

When morning arrived, I tiptoed to my room, looked around and checked the water bottle. (Funny how that idea stayed with me.) It was leaking. Water was all over the floor and on top of the dresser. That explained the thunking. I mopped it up. I noticed a light bulb that had fallen on the floor near the dresser. The water had dripped creating the clipping sound I’d heard. I had no idea the light bulb was there.

Mystery solved.

No matter how mysterious things seem there is always an answer. God is many things to you including the world’s greatest detective. Whatever you face, He will give you the insight to solve the problem.

Wisdom is the knowledge of God. It is the ability to put two and two together, to uncover motives of the heart and what might be really going on in a situation. Wisdom will help you go underneath the surface. That’s why Proverbs tells you to seek wisdom above all else.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding–Proverbs 4:7

Proverbs also encourages you to prize wisdom and hold her close.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it–Proverbs 8:11

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman–Proverbs 7:4

Don’t stay in the dark another minute. Don’t keep wondering why your money gets spent so quickly, why your children act up, why your marriage lacks passion. Whatever the need, ask for wisdom! God will FREELY give it to you according to James 1:5 (Modern English Version):

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him.

God has answers and longs to share those answers with you.

Love,

Karin
