God Moves Suddenly When You Least Expect

If you are waiting on the Lord, this Word from God will bless you. God has GOOD things in store!  When you least expect He will bring wonderful and exciting changes to your life…suddenly. Yes, God moves suddenly. He moves swiftly, unexpectedly and without warning. When you least expect, He’ll come shining through!

…And in an instant, suddenly, You shall be visited and delivered by the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a devouring fire–Isaiah 29:5-6

I’ve experienced many “suddenlies” in my life (you probably have too).

It took me six months to find a job after college graduation. One day I got a call that I’d been hired.

I’d always wanted a job at the company I work for. Each time I was in between jobs I submitted an application. Nothing ever panned out. Fast forward 21 years. An employment agency offered me a temp-to-perm assignment. Guess where? At the company I’d always wanted to work for! Just like that, the opportunity I’d desired for years came through.

I wanted a certain brand of shampoo and conditioner. Twice I visited a beauty supply that carried it. Twice they were not open. Disappointed, I sowed the money I would have used to pay for the hair products in the offering that night. I gave the matter to the Lord and I totally forgot about that shampoo and conditioner. A few weeks later, while hanging out with another friend, we visited a beauty supply. I found the shampoo and conditioner I wanted sitting on the shelf as soon as we walked in.

A member of my online community just experienced a suddenly. She was homeless for several months. For several months she worked on getting back on her feet. During that time, she got turned down for jobs and apartments. She landed a job and then lost it. Then she ended up becoming ill and had to be hospitalized. She experienced many moments of discouragement. Still, she hung in there. She just got a new apartment and interviewing for a job opportunity.

Waiting on the Lord is the key. I know how you feel. You want God on YOUR timetable. You may have already decided when and how you want Him to move. But God moves suddenly on His own timetable.

God moves suddenly. He moves swiftly, unexpectedly and without warning. When you least expect, He’ll come shining through!

Waiting renews your strength (Isaiah 40:31). How?

By making sure your desire is not an idol. Are you miserable without what you have asked from God? Tat should not be the case. You should be happy in your faith and delighting in the Lord each day.

By sowing seeds of your time, energy and money into the Kingdom so that you can reap a huge harvest. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

By giving you space to develop a personal relationship with God. God created you to have fellowship with Him. It’s your first calling. “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord–1 Corinthians 1:9.

God moves suddenly when you wait on Him and put Him first. Place your circumstances in His capable hands. When you least expect, He will come bringing His reward with Him.

How can you practice the art of waiting on the Lord?

While you wait, in what areas can you give of yourself? How?
