Hold On to the End! The Absolute Importance of Having Patience & Not Giving Up!

I’ll be the first to admit that exercising patience is difficult. You have to hold on to the end. The challenge is not knowing how long you will need to hold on.

You can feel like you’re going crazy by the waiting. (Come on. Be honest. Smile.) Years ago, during a critical time in my life, I spent some time in prayer to get some direction. The Lord spoke to me. I reached out to take what He gave me. Oh, it was a glorious time! Tears of happiness streamed down my face. Then I realized something. Oh no, I thought. I…have…to…wait…for…this…blessing. Ugh! It seemed the irritation started from my toes and worked itself up through the rest of my body. I didn’t think I could take waiting. I’d already waited for so long. My question? God, why can’t you just give me what I want now? Why? I needed to develop my faith and patience, learn to hear God and respond. This is the path to receiving from God.

It’s 27 years later. I don’t have every, single thing I prayed for back then but God has given me much. God has done a mighty work. I didn’t think I could hold on and yet God gave me the strength to do just that. Guess what? I am still holding on! Amen! I will until I receive everything God has for me. Will you do the same?

Don’t unplug! Don’t give up! Hold on!

Here’s another illustration on what it means to hold on. I bought a top about eight years ago that I really liked. It was too tight. I held on to it for years believing I’d lose enough weight to one day wear it. Then, one day, I decided to give the top away along with a few other things. Guess what? I lost a bunch of weight last year. I remembered that top. Why oh why did I give it away? I could have kicked myself!

Giving up is dangerous. Your desire could be right around the corner. When you pray God hears you from the start and begins working. Giving up, speaking negative, believing nothing will happen, will short-circuit God’s power. Giving up is like unplugging an appliance from it’s power source. Don’t unplug! Don’t give up! Hold on!

Father, I pray for the person reading this article. Rise up big in them. Help them to daily refuel on your Word. I pray they will never, ever lose sight of their dream. They will not give up by the power of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Love,

Karin
