confidence in god brings a great rewardCast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise — Hebrews 10:35-36

God led me to these verses many years ago as I struggled with confusion. My life didn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I couldn’t understand why after serving God for 14 years.

I struggled to trust God, but because of past experiences it was hard. The words “for ye have need of patience” were just for me. God made those particular words come alive. I learned I had faith (I was convinced of what God could do), but I didn’t want to wait for what He had for me. Boy, did I have to stretch myself. But after a million tantrums, pounding my fists on the table, tears with snot running out of my nose, God has delivered me and blessed me a platform to share my story with others.

Confidence in the Greek means boldness, openness, freedom. You might not understand everything that is happening or why. You might not understand why your prayers have not been answered in spite of waiting for months or even years. But today the Lord is saying to you: Don’t throw away your confidence! Don’t turn your back on your boldness, openness and the freedom you have in Christ. This is a time to press in. Do what you know to do. Walk in love. Encourage others. Get rid of bitterness and resentment. Do the small tasks God is leading you to do.

Notice this statement: “after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Often, when you trust God for something, you are only focused on what you want. However, God has a bigger picture: His plan and purpose for your life. As you embrace that plan and purpose, you will see your heart’s desire.

God has a specific path leading to the life you want. For a long time, all I thought I wanted was more money. That’s because I was always broke. But God taught me how to manage the money I already had and helped me to stop wasting my funds.

God revealed my strengths and talents and showed me how to put them to work. He has called me to encourage the Body of Christ and this I do each and every day through the book I’ve written, blog articles, and social media posts. This is one way I seek FIRST the Kingdom of God. I can see God adding my desires to me.

Do you see how this works? I can sum it up this way: Give God what He wants and He will give you what you want. When you give God what He wants, you’ll end up blessed in more ways than you ever imagined. That’s why it is so important to have confidence in God.

God wants to perform mighty acts in your life if you follow the instructions In Hebrews 10:35-36. Read these verses several times. FEED on them by memorizing and praying them into your life. As you do, BELIEVE.

Father, may everyone reading this article rise to become ALL you have created them to be. May they rise up and have confidence in You and be filled with Your wisdom and understanding. May they see You clearly and discern between good and evil. May they detect the enemy’s works in their lives and cast him out in the name of Jesus. May they use their spiritual authority daily with boldness. I speak these words in the name of Jesus. Amen!
